Domestic Violence

It is the mission of Ernestine Walkingstick & Bernita Jumper Shelter, in collaboration with communities within the Qualla Boundary to promote the prevention of domestic violence while fostering safety and healing for persons who have been affected by violence.  We believe in traditional values which honor and recognize the spirit and sacredness of human life.

The EBCI Domestic Violence Shelter is committed to protecting citizens and our communities through activities that promote and support prevention, preparedness, response, recovery, education, and enforcement. These objectives are achieved through a focus on saving lives, providing efficient and effective services, maintaining public trust, and developing strong partnerships.
