Come fish the ancient streams of the Cherokee in the Cherokee Trout Masters Tournament. Held on the Cherokee Indian Reservation, the Tournament will take place from Wednesday, July 4th through Saturday July 7th, 2007 and on Tuesday, July 3rd, a Trout Masters Mixer will be held on the Island from 5:00 to 9:00 PM. With the unmatched beauty of Cherokee surrounding you, you will compete for a total of 59 cash prizes totaling $10,000, including awards for longest tagged trout, single heaviest tagged trout and heaviest overall weight of tagged trout which consists of your five weightiest fish. The inaugural event of four fishing tournaments, this is the first step on the path to becoming the Cherokee Trout Master. Please join us for this one of a kind event.

 

Rules

Ø      All winners will be required to sign a W-9, a liability, and a photo release form.

Ø      The daily creel for registered participating fishermen is 10 trout.

Ø      Any tampering with the fish will result in disqualification from the tournament.

Ø      Fish may be taken from Enterprise Waters only with a rod and line and with bait or lure.

Ø      No person may have more than one line in the water at one time.

Ø      Snagging, chumming, grabbing, seining and selling and buying of game fish (trout) is prohibited.

Ø      Once a registered participant wins a cash prize in a drawing, they are ineligible for further prizes awarded from drawings.

Ø      Any breaking of the rules/regulations will result in disqualification from the tournament.

Ø      Guidelines for the Heaviest Overall Weight: Each fisherman will be allowed to weigh in their five (5) heaviest tagged trout each day. The heaviest cumulative total at the end of the tournament on Saturday will be the $5000 winner.

Ø      In the event of a tie in any prize category, the prize money will be split between the winners.

Ø      Registration may be done by mail using the attached form and sending a money order or cashiers check for the registration fee or you can register on site.

Ø      Please do not send cash or personal checks for registration fee.

Ø      Registration fee is $50 and is non-refundable.

 

Schedule of Events

Ø      Dates of Tournament: Wednesday, July 4th through Saturday, July 7th, 2007

Ø      Tuesday, July 3rd - 5:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. - Trout Masters Mixer on the Island .

Ø      Check-in will begin each morning at 6:00 a.m. at the Veterans (Barclay) parking lot, with a shotgun fishing start at 7:00 a.m.

Ø      Weigh-in will begin at 7:00 p.m. each evening at the same location.

Ø      Prizes will be awarded each night following the completion of the weigh-in.

Ø      The grand prize will be awarded on Saturday, July 7th.

 

Prizes

A total of 59 cash prizes totaling $10,000 will be awarded, including:

Wednesday through Saturday:

Ø      $1000 per day through random drawings using

registration/receipt numbers as follows:

Ø      6 winners of $100

Ø      8 winners of $50

Saturday, the Grand Prizes will consist of:

Ø      $500 for the "Longest" tagged trout

Ø      $500 for the "Single Heaviest" tagged trout

Ø      $5000 for the "Heaviest Overall Weight"
