The Qualla Boundary includes the town of Cherokee, NC as well as several other communities. Many of these townships would have been clan townships in earlier times (Bird clan, Wolf clan, etc). There are other communities more removed from the main reservation that are still part of the Cherokee reservation. Snowbird, near Robbinsville, NC and several tracts both large and small in Cherokee County (the western-most county in the state).

As well as the communities themselves there are community organizations that also work to enrich the quality of life in the Cherokee area. These organizations serve both tribal members and non members including those temporary visitors to our area- tourists.
